Formed as Cleveland Mountain Rescue Team in the mid-sixties, following an increase in popularity of the 42-mile Lyke Wake Walk across the North York Moors – and the subsequent increase in calls for assistance – Cleveland team now covers the the northern area of the North Yorks Moors in the north east of England.
