On Saturday 24th August at 01.00hrs Cumbria Police contacted Patterdale Mountain Rescue Team for assistance with a group of men who were in the lake near Pooley Bridge and in trouble.  

The Duty Leader contacted the Informant and the Police and established that a group of men who had been drinking had taken a boat out onto the lake from a local campsite and were now in difficulty. The Team members were put on standby whilst it was established what and where they were needed.  It was quickly established that the men had been recovered from the water and no longer required our assistance with our Rescue Boat.

A multi agency response had been initiated due to the nature of the incident, involving  Police, Fire and Rescue, Coastguard and ourselves.  The incident lasted around 30 minutes involving one Team member.
