June 29, 2024
On Saturday the 29th June, Patterdale Mountain Rescue Team members had just reached the summit of Helvellyn on a previous job when they were alerted to a walker who had become lost on Stybarrow Dodd as the cloud levels had dropped.
This was their third job in the space of 2 hours, Penrith MRT taking over the previous job in Martindale. Thankfully the Team had a few spare members by this time and was able to send 2 people out in a team Landrover to locate the lost person. The team members parked at Dowthwaite Head and, using the phone find system, were able to locate the lost person and walk them off the fell.
This job involved 4 Team members and lasted 5 hours
