Ennerdale Callout 05/08/19

Cockermouth Mountain Rescue Team was called out at approximately 22:30 on Monday 5th August. The team was asked to assist a group of six walkers who were struggling with fatigue near Ennerdale Youth Hostel, following a long day out on the fells.
Given the apparent nature of the incident, eight team members were dispatched, they quickly located the group where it became apparent that one of the six was demonstrating more serious symptoms, an NWAS ambulance was requested, but due to availability it was quicker for the team to transport the casualty directly to Whitehaven A&E.
Eight Team Members attended the callout, which was the 37th this year and lasted four and a half hours.
Team Leader Andrew McNeil said, ÔTonightÕs callout was an example of how quickly a situation can change, the Team responded to the casualtyÕs symptoms quickly and effectively, and we wish her a speedy recovery.Õ
