On Monday, August 21st at 16:10 the Patterdale Mountain Rescue Team was tasked by Cumbria Police to go to the aid of a group of young people who had become cold and were unable to continue their walk due to strong winds.

Sixteen team members responded and thirteen made their way onto the fell to escort the group back to the valley bottom. Two of the group were suffering from mild hypothermia and once rewarmed were checked over by a team doctor.

This incident lasted a total of 4hrs 10 minutes.
