Ankle injury on Stybarrow Crag

On Saturday 24/08/2024 at around 1800hrs the Patterdale Mountain Rescue Team were called out by Cumbria Police as well as the Northwest Ambulance Service regarding a female who had slipped and sustained an ankle injury.

The location was Stybarrow Crag next to Ullswater. The casualty had been descending off the fell when she slipped and sustained a nasty ankle injury. She was not far from the road when the incident happened and this meant that the Team were on scene quickly. The injury was treated at the scene and the casualty was taken to the road by stretcher. From there she was transported to the Patterdale base. There the injury was further stabilised whilst awaiting arrival of a land Ambulance to take her to hospital.
