Ankle injury Glenridding Dodd

On Saturday 28/12/24 at midday Patterdale Mountain Rescue Team was called out regarding a walker who had injured his lower leg. The casualty’s partner had called 999 and reported that they believed his leg to be fractured. The couple were near the top of Glenridding Dodd when the casualty had slipped and injured his leg.
The team responded and at the same time the Great North Air Ambulance had also been deployed due to the nature of the reported injury. The GNAAS crew were first on scene and their doctor assessed the injury and fortunately no fracture was suspected. The team then stretchered the casualty to the helicopter and he was flown down to the valley bottom where he was transferred to a team landrover. The casualty and his partner then made their own way to hospital.
The incident took 2 hours and involved 14 team members.
