Judy Whiteside revealed new (tongue in cheek) possibilities for corporate wear with the news that a a ‘classic thong’ was on sale somewhere emblazoned (without our permission, we should add) with our national logo. Not for the faint-hearted. Bob Sharp looked at the social history behind the development of mountain rescue teams, Lyle Brotherton reported on his work with Project Melampus and the ‘seven deadly sins of bias in incident management’ and, in the lakes, John Barry looked at command and control for rescues and civil emergencies such as flooding.
