Issue 48 Mountain Rescue Spring 2014
This was the first issue we began to refer to by the season, rather than the month, to better demonstrate that content was relevant for a full quarter (and take the pressure off copy deadlines – although this didn’t really work!) Robin Knott looked back at the tragic Four Inns Walk of 1964, an event which sparked the formation of mountain rescue in the Peak District. Judy Whiteside asked why we need brand guidelines and attempted to unravel some of the apparent confusion surrounding our national logo, Lyle Brotherton provided a few navigational techniques borrowed from the military and Bridget Beer described the work of the Flood Forecasting Centre.
