In health and wellbeing, Neil Woodhead and Judy Whiteside launched the newly-formed Rescue Benevolent Fund onto the membership – a huge step forward for mountain and cave rescue, being able to offer support to members who get injured or fall ill during call-outs. David Allan scanned the medical journals for relevant articles, including a review of the practice of spinal immobilisation in the pre-hospital environment. Further afield, Ian Wall looked back over the last forty years of the Himalayan Rescue Association.
