Ankle injury – Aira Force

On Friday 23/08/24 at around 1700hrs, the Patterdale Mountain Reswcue Team was called out regarding man with an ankle injury near the top of Aira Force.

The man had been walking with his family when he slipped and injured his ankle, unable to stand up. The casualty was quickly located and his ankle was stabilised and splinted with a vacuum splint. He was then transferred by stretcher to a team land rover. The casualty and his family then made their own way to hospital for further treatment.

10 team members attended this incident and it lasted 1hr 30mins.
